Final Model - FISHER HOUSE (1:50)

My process Model - from in-class exercise, which
shows fine detail of one corner of the building.

3 images document the process of putting the model
together after each day of construction.

The staircase was a very time-consuming aspect of
the model, whereby you had to glue each piece or
step individually and ensure that all lengths were
cut extremely accurately to avoid deformities.

A plan view of all the components of the model

A birds-eye view of the components separated

A view portraying how the different components of
the model fit together and form one solid representation

Two images showing finer details of the model
and how light interacts with the facade of the building

These two images show the effect of lighting in
one room, coming from different directions, and
how it changes our focus in the room.

This was a great experience that challenged my
mental resolve and taught me many things
throughout the process of construction.

Week 2 Task - FISHER HOUSE Site Plan

The material used for the contours was box-board

The frame was made from bulsa and the river
was made of aluminium foil overlapped with
a thin (transparent) blue plastic sheet.

I found this model very time consuming, whereby
it was difficult to construct the fisher house to fit
in the site model perfectly. More planning was
needed, however my solution of trees being conveyed
through arrangements of thinly sliced boxboard adds
an interesting effect to the model - separating it from
reality whilst creating a synergy with the materials used.

Week 1 Task - BARCELONA PAVILION

I Chose the section the model to challenge myself
whilst trying to maintain the integrity of the model
and enabling all aspects of the building to be studied.
It does however affect our interpretation of how flat
and linear the building is - an ineffective representation.

Model - IT Process Models

1st Process Model - Simply the template used as
a base with slanted roofing, changing the perspective
of whether it is a courtyard or a house...

3rd Process Model - Different views
portray different characeristics and
show the effect light has on the space.

Angled / Slanted roofing became a theme
resonating throughout the models,
which progressed to create an interesting
effect on the final model,
where the interprtation of space is
changed from each view of the model.
